IN September 2008 various performers congregated at Romsey Mill community centre on Hemingford Road in Cambridge to record tracks they had written especially for the project.
Lee Tomkies, the sound recording engineer gave his time free of charge to produce a rough cut version ,15 tracks and then a mastered copy of 14 tracks.
Buskers Cate Williams,Migracion; Pub singers Dave Broad and Sheena Matthews as well as professional musicians Bijoumiyo, Hoss , Joe Fox Boy Mandeville and Liz Forte recorded on that autumn day.
Also poems were recorded, the opening track being the title SURVIVORS written by a gifted hospital worker named Sophia Magwaro.
The project was born out of a desire to raise funds for the Medical Foundation for The Victims of Torture.
